Ticor Title was recently named the lead sponsor of the Short Sale Con, an exclusive short sale convention for real estate, being held at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 7-9, 2013. This is the first event of its kind ever held in the United States and the developers of the event want to help real estate professionals learn how to obtain new listings using some innovative, creative, and proven methods. Their goal is that, by the end of the three-day event, real estate professionals will recognize that waiting for shadow inventory to be released onto the market in the form of REO's is a complete waste of their time; such a release will never happen, and they will not be selected as REO representatives. Instead, they should focus on getting listings in the current market, learn how to deal with banks and how to build their business and success in today’s real estate market.
Planners have created a three day event filled with information that attendees can take home and begin to use immediately, and that will help every real estate professional in attendance. On Thursday, March 7th, attendees will register and meet other attendees before heading to their first seminar dedicated to Certified Default Advocacy Training (CDAT) and Certification. This presentation gets the convention off to a fast start by providing a complete examination of "why" there are short sales, "how" to explain how they work to homeowners, and "the proper way” to answer any question posed about them by helping others understand the process and the information.
On Friday, March 8th, there is a full day of presentations and speakers, starting with an event designed to help participants implement the information and tools provided by these speakers and get started with new listings immediately on the first day of work after the convention. Saturday ends with seminars on homeowner conversion, scripting & advocacy, and asset protection. This is a day that you cannot miss. How often are you given an opportunity for no "upsell" of products? You will receive invaluable information from people dedicated to help over 1 million homeowners avoid foreclosure.
On Saturday, March 9th, the day begins with a superstar panel of hand selected short sale experts and practitioners who are making themselves available to answer any and all questions participants may have. The panel moderator is Lee Honish, the former head loss mitigator of IndyMac bank. With over 22 years of experience in asset management, he provides the "truth" of what the banks say and do, and what they are really saying about real estate agents. He is not only a professional real estate coach and consultant, the creator of CDAT, homeowner advocate, and an authentic - no nonsense man who, over the last 7 years, has been a major advocate in helping realtors be successful and productive agents in the short sale market, but he continues to think out of the box and come up with solutions and innovative ways to help his coaching students, homeowners, and real estate agents see that there are successful options that do not have to be costly in order to work in the real estate industry. Steve Guzman is an active California Realtor, homeowner advocate, and CDAT instructor. He not only works the short sales, helps teach other agents how to work them, but he is "in the trenches" daily and knows how to share that information with others in the field.
We will close on Saturday with discussions of appraisals and valuation with well-known appraiser Justin Durian, who is an approved lender/appraiser, Freddie/Fannie review appraiser, and expert witness who is one of the top in his field. He has the ability to put appraisals and property valuations into "layman’s" terms for a much easier understanding of the process and how it relates to real estate professionals and the differences and approaches of "other" appraisals. The final guest will be CPA and attorney Paul Horn, another expert in his field, who will share information and address the issues surrounding taxes and government regulations.
This is one time in your life where you should take the opportunity to gain some real truth and honesty from professionals who only want to help you become successful in the interesting time in real estate. Don't miss it!
